SUMMARY:Beyond the LMS: The Future of Learning Infrastructure
DESCRIPTION:Beyond the LMS: The Future of Learning Infrastructure \nWith Shelly Blake-Plock from Institute for Infrastructure and Interoperable Data in Learning \nWhat if the real innovation in learning isn’t another tool… but the infrastructure behind it? \nIn this session\, we’re joined by Shelly Blake-Plock from the Institute for Infrastructure and Interoperable Data in Learning to explore a big question: \nAre our learning systems built for the world we’re moving into? \nAs organisations invest in AI\, analytics and digital transformation\, many are discovering that the real challenge is not content. It’s the underlying systems. How data flows. How tools connect. How learning experiences live beyond a single platform. \nThis conversation will unpack: \n\nWhy learning infrastructure matters more than ever\nWhat “interoperable” actually means in practical terms\nHow AI depends on structured\, connected data\nWhy thinking beyond the LMS is becoming essential\nWhat this shift could mean for Australian organisations\n\nThis is not a technical deep dive. It’s a forward-looking conversation about how we design learning ecosystems that are more flexible\, connected and future-ready. \nIf you’re curious about where learning is heading and how infrastructure quietly shapes everything we do\, this session is for you. \nView the recording below

SUMMARY:Using Data & Analytics to Prove (and Improve) the Effectiveness of Training
DESCRIPTION:Using Data & Analytics to Prove (and Improve) the Effectiveness of Training \nWith Jason Haag from Veracity \nL&D decision-makers and designers often do not know what learning analytics are possible or what should even be measured. This is a common challenge for many xAPI implementations. Many development efforts often start with only a basic understanding of xAPI and rush into implementing it without thinking about how the data will be evaluated later on. Basic xAPI support is provided by many authoring tools and its potential often excites us\, but the default data is not often useful. \nIn this session we a joined by Jason Haag\, Co-Founder of Veracity LRS. You’ll learn how to identify simple measures that will directly support your evaluation\, reporting\, and analytics goals. You’ll leave this session with new insights on how to strategically plan and implement xAPI-based content using this approach to better measure for business impact and learning or training effectiveness. This approach/angle on this topic is unique because it starts with the end in mind (evaluation) and will provide the audience with real-world examples and tangible visualizations they can use to spawn deeper thoughts and discussions on learning and performance analytics strategy. \n[UPDATE] Due to unforeseen circumstances\, this event has been moved to 15th May 2026.
